Cheapest/best ways to get an easy HD webcam*

Need a legit super clear HD webcam but don’t want to spend a fortune –and you already have an iPhone?

$40-80ish USD - Option 1
(Apple or Android/Windows)

Download Reincubate Camo

This software installs on your iPhone AND your computer and allows you to use your iPhone’s camera wirelessly or wired as a 1080p webcam in all the main software you’re already using, including Zoom, Google Meet, Whereby, Descript, Facebook & YouTube streaming, etc.

It’s actually WAY better quality than my Logitech C920s webcam which is also in 1080…? The quality of video you get will just depend on how good your phone’s camera is. You can also edit the video stream itself in the Camo software which will reflect in Zoom, etc with changes to background blur, text or graphic overlays, brightness, color correction, and more!

For a one-time payment of about $80 USD (or an annual payment of about $40 USD) + a cheap phone stand, you can turn your iPhone into a seriously badass webcam!

True story: I literally had somone ask me if I had a 4k resolution webcam while using this recently! 😂 Nope, just my old iPhone 12 Pro Max camera! –It’s THAT good.

Free - Option 2
(for Apple/Mac users)

Apple’s new OS update includes something called “Continuity Camera” which allows your Mac to use your iPhone as a webcam if they’re close by each other!

Set up is easy, and it gives you automatic access to basic features like:

  • Center Stage, where you stay in the center of the video even if you’re moving around a little

  • Portrait, where you are clear but your background is blurred

  • Studio Light, where you are brightened and your background is darkened a little to keep you in visual focus

  • Desk View, where without moving your iPhone, you can share a view of your desktop that looks like an overhead camera is pointing at it!

Works (FREE) with Zoom, Descript, Whereby, and any other video-based apps you already use, as long as both your iPhone and your Mac have the right operating system installed.

All ya need is a phone mount! I liked and bought this one from Belkin which works with my MagSafe case:
