How to make a site inactive in your SquareKicker Dashboard, on the Designer Plan

Table of Contents Show

Unless you're brand new around here, you know I love Squarespace! But it's not without its limitations.

I know that, which is why it was SUCH a big deal to find the little powerhouse design plugin that could: SquareKicker.

SquareKicker has a few different subscription plans, and one of them is the “Designer” plan, which allows up to 10 different websites to use the SquareKicker plugin simultaneously & individually.

That means each of those 10 sites can have its own plugin installed and have its own design changes, completely independent of one another.

The caveat? When you launch the site, you have to reach out to the SK team and get them to transfer ownership of that site’s plugin & design changes to the client’s account, instead of yours, so they’d be able to activate a new subscription on their dime and continue making changes if they wanted.

You also used to have to ask the SK team to manually remove sites from our connected site list, because doing that ourselves wasn’t an option.

However, that last bit is part of a NEW feature release!!

SquareKicker just gave us the capability to remove sites from the active list, inside our SquareKicker Dashboards for those of us on their Designer Plan!

But, that could sound a little scary, right?

‘…What if it removes the design changes I just made and it they’re lost?’

Don’t worry, it won’t. I double AND triple-checked with the amazing SquareKicker team, and they confirmed this before I tried it myself.

Removing a site from the active list, only removes the site from the active list. Who woulda’ thunk it?! 😂

But seriously, you can restore that inactive site back to your active list any time to make further changes.

NOTE: To my knowledge, we still have to reach out to the SK team to transfer the SK subscription over to a client so the changes go with the subscription, whether active in a paid subscription for them or not. But I’m sure that’s on their list of features to tackle and when that’s released, you can bet your ass I’ll let you know –after I do the happy dance. 😆

And if ya want some proof, –I get it. I’m a visual person too. Watch me remove a site from my list AND restore it, in the video below.
