Planoly: My Favorite Instagram Scheduler

LTDT-S1862_Planoly_My-Favorite-Instagram-Scheduler.jpg

I’ve tried several social media schedulers over the last few years, and abandoned each of them after a while for one reason or another.

Either I didn’t like their app, the user interface was ugly or not very user friendly, I just plain don’t use the platform it was meant to schedule to, or budget-related reasons (priced too high, or not able to justify the cost vs how much I was using it), etc.

So you can probably imagine my excitement when I found one that isn’t terribly expensive, looks pretty on desktop & mobile, has a really robust app, and is for the platform I’m most active on!

YAY! 🙌🏻

So what specifically drew me to Planoly for Instagram? Let’s dive in!

15 reasons why Planoly is my favorite IG scheduler

#1) It’s pretty, so I enjoy using it

Their interface is attractive, –feminine even (that being said, guys probably won’t gravitate to it).

I’m not a super girly-girl, type of woman and while I can appreciate it when used well, pink is not & never has been in my list of favorite colors.

Planoly’s branding is mostly a pale pink, white & black, which I actually don’t mind. The color palette feels calm, which is always a good thing when you’re batching tons of shit. 😂 And for all of you who are pink-obsessed, or love neutral color palettes, you’ll be right at home.

#2) Plan your feed, after creating scheduled drafts

Much like the Later app, Planoly lets you rearrange your scheduled posts in the grid preview if you don’t like the arrangement, visually. Their drag-and-drop system is super easy to use.

#3) Find & repost from your community, within the app

You can search for and repost content you find from the people you follow.

You can even find stock photos from this area of Planoly’s app!

Find content by user, hashtag or stock photos.

#4) Schedule posts & write formatted captions

You can schedule posts two different ways:

  • auto-post, or

  • using a scheduled reminder to post it live yourself

When you schedule, bc Facebook now owns Instagram, you can also schedule the post go on FB at the same time it posts to IG.

Drafting captions is super easy on desktop or mobile. You can also add emojis in your captions and keep paragraph spaces with a double-enter/return while typing.

#5) Save the hashtag groups you use the most

IG allows 30 hashtags in your caption or 1st comment, and that many can be WAY too hard to remember!

Planoly allows you to save your hashtags in titled lists, so you can quickly add them to any caption, or type in your own manually.

#6) Built-in analytics, no matter what plan you’re on

Granted, I don’t know how their analytics compare to the stats you get from the IG app itself, but they’re available to you anyway!

You get basic analytics on any plan, and more advanced analytics on the paid plans.

#7) Manage & reply to comments

Managing comments from your Planoly account can be a time-saver, actually.

Why? Not being in IG might keep you from being drawn down the rabbit hole of looking at commenter-profiles or getting stuck scrolling through your feed mindlessly.

#8) Stories!

I’m terrible at being consistent with Stories, so I tend to post them live from IG when I do.

BUT, that being said, Planoly has super fun ways to make your Stories look beautiful.

You can plan them out, arrange them, and create captions for them.

You can even use their separate Stories Edit app, to design your Stories posts using their templates!

#9) An official partner

Your account won’t be in jeopardy if you use Planoly to schedule your posts; they’re an official, trusted, Instagram AND PINTEREST partner.

#10) Schedule to Pinterest

Did I mention you can use Planoly to schedule pins to Pinterest too? It’s new!

I actually still use Tailwind for this & haven’t even remotely looked at using Planoly for this yet, bc Tailwind works so well & I’m already established there. I know how it all works, etc. That’s not to say Planoly’s new Pinterest features aren’t worth investigating though!

Save, plan, schedule and publish your pins with your Planoly account.

#11) Add shop links

Similar to Later, Planoly can create a ‘shoppable gallery’ of IG content, when you add a link to the item in your shop.

You can also tag products in your posts, and put the shoplink in your IG profile.

Oh and you can track how people interact with those shoplinks, too.

#12) FREE PLAN with (very) limited features

You can use it free forever with 1 IG and 1 Pinterest account, basic analytics and manage up to 5 comments in your comment inbox.

#13) Various paid plans

Paid plans start at only $7/mo-paid annually or $9/monthly, but go to their website to see what current pricing looks like & see what’s included on each plan.

#14) Put your hashtags in the first comment

One really neat feature I love about Planoly, is that when you are scheduling a post, you can choose to put all of your hashtags in the first comment. When the post auto-publishes for you, it will put the hashtags as a comment FOR you!

#15) Select your location

Choose your location when you create the draft, just like you can in the IG app.
